ABSTRACT: In this talk I want to talk about how the models in our minds systematically guide us during testing– and yet also trap us. I will demonstrate this problem by showing a state-based test of an application, and offer some ways out of the trap. This has relevance to testers, of course, but also to programmers who support and critique testing in the normal course of their work.
