Hi,

here is the actual list with:
currently active CSTE certificants

softwarecertifications.org/static/RosterCSTE.pdf

this would make about 5000 active CSTE certificants
(active roster as of 02 November 2006)
I just calculate 40*122 - if someone counts all, tell me

Please consider:
CSTE lists in the pdf only active members.
But members can still continue to indicate that they have passed the exam - though their certification "has expired". But ISTQB Certified Tester never expires.

But from this source we have following info:
Quality Assurance Institute (QAI), USA was established in 1980 as a professional association formed to represent the software quality assurance industry. Today, Software Certifications, administered by QAI, is global.

Since its inception, Software Certifications has certified over 28,000 professionals in Australia, Barbados, Belgium, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, and the United States.

you can find this info on the right side of
www.qaiindia.com/Certification/note.htm in the box "Program History".

as it says in the PDF:
This roster contains all currently active CSTE certificants as of the above date. Individuals with valid certifications that have not maintained their records (e.g. mail returned due to bad address or addressee unknown) are not listed here. These individuals need to submit a Change of Records form to Software Certifications with their updated contact information in order to reactivate their listing in this roster.

So, what do you think can (or can NOT) now be concluded from these statistics?

e.g. in comparison there are at the moment about 40000 ISTQB Certified Tester worldwide:
www.skilledtester.de/istqb_certified_testers.html

If there are already so many certificates and in the future there will be more, finally in the future there will be software without anomalies?

CU,
Erkan YILMAZ

Hello Amit,

first a warm welcome to you in the forum.

As I see you recently passed the CSTE exam 2 months ago.
So, perhaps you could tell something for people who have not started learning for CSTE and also about the exam itself.

Also some other useful info:
how did the knowledge you gained, help you in your actual life/profession?

But of course you can also provide other information. Feel free like you wish.

Bye 4 now,
Erkan

hi

The URL provides lots of info on the same.

As all might be aware, the exams require CBOk to be read very thoroughly.
The more number of times reading is done , the better.

Exam is made up of 4 parts ( 2 Objective papers and 2 Subjective papers.)
Objective 1 - break - Subjective 1 - break - objective 2 - break - Subjective 2.

50 objective questions ( 50*2) and 10 subjective questions ( 10*2) and for this the time limit is ( 45+75+45+75 minutes and 10 mintues break) and everything is to be marked and written in PENCIL.

For subjective questions present the answer in points/bullets form and highlight important things.
no essay writing is required.

Exam subjective questions are both theory questions( direct) and from the applications of Software testing.
Join Yahoo groups ( they help a lot) browse through past papers/files there on groups.

and ofcourse you get lots to learn by studying for exam, definations/concepts are more cleared and redifined apart from being recognized.

Any other help do let me know.

Cheers
Amit

Hello Amit,

I have posted here the answer to not spam the CSTE-thread, so that CSTE stays focussed:

Hello everybody,

Himanshu has also some useful pages about CSTE, e.g.:
SISQA (Southern Idaho Society for Software Quality Assurance):
