Hi Digital,
until the friend of mine joins here, I will tell you one thing I like about CSTE:
its recertification-necessity every 3 years, because - at least - this keeps the mind active. Otherwise people would just sit on their "papers" and that it is.
But please consider that 3 years are also not that much.
This is no judgement yet on the content/topics yet, only 1 thing I had on my mind.

if it is ok with you, I would delete then this post here from CSTE, so that it solely concentrates on CSTE, ok?
because for software testing the certifications can be grouped into exam-based and education-based.
Exam-based certifications: For this there is the need to pass an exam, which can also be learned by self-study: e.g. for ISTQB Certified Tester or CSTE by QAI.
Education-based certifications are instructor-led sessions, where each course has to be passed, e.g. CSTP or CSTM by IIST (International Institute for Software Testing). ]
